Emails went flying across Echo Park Wednesday notifying recipients that the neighborhood’s upcoming holiday parade had been canceled and put off until 2009. One parade organizer, Cindy Ortiz, was contacted by concerned residents interested in what was going on. That prompted parade supporters to announce on the Echo Elysian forum that the 2008 Echo Park Community Parade is still on for Dec. 13. In fact, there’s a parade kick off this Friday.
My only question now is why you can’t even call it a “holiday” parade anymore.
