• The Park restaurant says bye-bye to BYO

    Friday, January 9, 2009

One of the reason’s behind the popularity of Echo Park’s new restaurant called The Park has been a bring-your-own booze and no-corkage fee policy. Apparently, those days are coming to a close, the restaurant informed customers today in an email:

“We have been notified by the City that our BYO policy is not in accordance with state law. According to California state law we are not allowed to allow you to bring your own alcohol to drink on our premises. We’ve decided to get through this weekend as our last weekend of BYO after which we will not be able to allow our guests to bring in their own alcohol. We will be applying for a permit and hopefully we will be able to get through all the red tape quickly.”
