The temporary closure of two Los Angeles County Clerk offices means crowded conditions at the remaining locations, including the East Los Angeles office (pictured above), which just happens to be across the street from The Eastsider’s alma mater, Brooklyn Avenue Elementary School. The wait was nearly two hours this afternoon, and the line at one point grew to more than 70 adults, children and babies waiting for birth certificates, wedding licenses and a domestic partnership certificate (you can send us gifts later). The trick to avoid the long line, the clerk said, is to come early.
