Car wash for Eric Zamarripa

The kids and adults shouting of “Car Wash!” and “Donations” in the middle of Echo Park Avenue were drowned out by “Louie Louie” booming from a stereo at today’s car wash in memory of Eric Zamarripa. Zamarripa was gunned down last Sunday at his Baxter Street home in what police say is a feud among Echo Park gang members. Police squad cars were among the vehicles stuck at times today at Echo Park Avenue and Armitage Street, where the car wash took place at Peter Shire Studio. The car wash will continue Sunday.

A website in memory of Zamarripa has been set up at WeLoveYouEric.com.
