• Dodger season opener ends with a stabbing, guns and street brawl

    Tuesday, April 14, 2009

The opening game against the San Francisco giants was marred by the stabbing of a 30-year-old man near the Dodger Stadium main gate, according to ABC7. In addition, police arrested a man with a gun in a separate incident and at least 30 people were also involved in a fight on Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park.

The violence came after traffic tied up local streets for much of the morning and late afternoon.

The Dodger season opener also marks a seasonal increase in vehicle break-ins and thefts as criminals target cars and trucks parked inside and near the stadium.
