Dragnet returns to the L.A. Police Academy

In honor of the new “Dragnet” postage stamp, a few of the former stars of the classic TV show will appear this afternoon at the Los Angeles Police Academy in Elysian Park. It’s not the first time the Police Academy has served as a setting for Dragnet. This video of a 1968 Dragnet episode focuses on the training of women recruits at the academy. Most of the scenes were shot on a stage but there are a few outdoor shots of the academy grounds. The Eastsider previously posted this video (sorry, there are some commercial breaks) earlier this year but thought it was worth a rerun in honor of “Dragnet Day.”
