One of the places that was not closed during the holiday weekend was Echo Park Lake’s Sunday Swap Meet. Several residents, one of whom supplied the above photos, said vendors selling everything from rolls of toilet paper to racks of clothes stretched for a block in either direction along Park Avenue and and Echo Park Avenue. Wasn’t the city supposed to “crack down” on the illegal market? We sent an email to the office of Councilman Eric Garcetti to get an update. Meanwhile, expect a New Year’s Sale next weekend.
