Nobody goes overlooked in Hermon

Hermon, sandwiched between El Sereno and the 110 Freeway, is already one of the safest neighborhoods in Northeast LA. But last month saw the installation of 17 new orange-and-white Neighborhood Watch signs. What happened here? The renovation of an Echo Park house on Lake Shore Street has left only two walls and a bathroom sink standing. City to put the brake on new auto repair shops in Cypress Park & Glassell Park *

Some of the major streets that cut through Cypress Park and Glassell Park are lined with car repair and parts shops, smog test stations, salvage yards and many other “auto-oriented” businesses.
