The Silver Lake couple who commissioned artist Phil Lumbang to paint a mural on the front of their home had until today to remove the artwork, which city inspectors had determined was illegal. But the happy woodland creatures get stay – at least for one more month – as city officials try to figure out if there is a legal way to keep the mural following a request by Councilman Eric Garcetti. “The deadline on the bear mural was extended to April 1,” said council district spokeswoman Julie Wong.
