Anyone who lives near Aurora and Pedro Ramirez never has to worry about missing a holiday. That’s because in the days before any major holiday – from Christmas to Halloween – the Angeleno Heights couple fill the front yard of their Bellevue Avenue home of more than 40 years with the appropriate seasonal decorations. More than a week ago, Pedro and Aurora, hauled out their supply of inflatable, light up and animated Easter bunnies, which greet visitors on the porch, dangle from the window frames and stand amid the cactus, pagodas and wagon wheels that decorate the yard year around. Strands of tiny illuminated carrots and more bunnies complete the holiday scene. This year, one of the inflatable bunnies by the front gate has had trouble standing up. “I think it’s got a leak,” said Pedro, 80, who said his 79-year-old wife is in charge of the decor. It takes the couple about a day to set up their Easter display, which is “nothing” compared to their elaborate Christmas extravaganza, said Pedro. Easter Bunny fans better hurry over to Bellevue Avenue before Aurora and Pedro begin decorating for the next holiday.
