Police release sketch of Silver Lake robbery suspect

The LAPD this afternoon released a composite drawing of the man suspected of shooting a woman in the arm while attempting to steal her purse Saturday night in the 2300 block of Glendale Boulevard near a cluster of Silver Lake bars and restaurants. The suspect is described as “a thin-build, male Hispanic between 20 to 35 years of age. He stood 5 foot 8 inches and was last seen wearing a dark-blue, hooded sweatshirt.”

In a separate incident on Sunday night, a 20-year-old woman was beaten on Maltman Avenue during an attempted robbery in the Sunset Junction area of Silver Lake.

Silver Lake residents concerned about neighborhood crime can attend a previously scheduled meeting – hosted by the Silver Lake Improvement Assn. and the LAPD – on Thursday, April 15 at 6 pm. The meeting will be held at Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church, 650 Micheltorena St.

  1. More details on the incident on CBS2: http://cbs2.com/local/Woman.Shot.Parents.2.1636632.html Her parents were beaten too? Jesus. Why did it take so long for more info to be released? (Forgive me Eastsider, if you already posted this additional info — hadn't noticed it on your site.)

  2. Oh man, the CBS 2 guys are idiots. The woman was my wife, and the older couple were my boss and his girlfriend. I dont know how they assumed they were her parents…
