Police SWAT Team on scene in Echo Park

Members of the LAPD SWAT Team and other officers descended on the 2200 block of Aaron Street west of Glendale Boulevard at about 3 PM. Residents were left to wonder what was going on as members of the SWAT team were seen standing in yards, and a police helicopter hovered overhead. An officer with the team said they were helping serve a warrant at a home on the block. There had been no shooting, he said. An LAPD spokeswoman said she had no information on the operation.
