The inflated tentacles and other shapes that make up “Squid Capsule” are quickly filling up the courtyard of Materials & Applications on Silver Lake Boulevard in preparation for an opening reception this Saturday, June 19. Here, according to information from Silver Lake exhibition space, is what to expect from this inflatable art piece:
“‘Squid Capsule’ … will transform the outdoor courtyard into a weather island that isolates and amplifies subtle changes in Los Angeles’ summer climate. ‘Climate change’ is enacted here as a delicate drama of temperature and humidity, with air as the medium and water as the agent of change. A field of fog will permeate around these inflatables, suspending the entire piece in a vapor cloud.”
WTF?
