  1. Re: The Bird Man of Silver Lake, Maybe he should re consider his approach of caring for pigeons. There are numerous reasons why one should not feed wild pigeons, One: over feeding can lead to pigeons breeding nearly all year long, which puts pressure on breeding sites making many of them unhealthy. Too much food will also attract rats and mice. Two: Feeding unhealthy pigeons puts humans at risk, pigeons can carry a number of potentially infectious diseases such as salmonella, tuberculosis and ornithosis (a mild form of psittacosis). Three: Pigeon fouling is unsightly but its acid content can be destructive, staining and eroding stonework. Nest droppings and feathers can block gutters, rainwater and down-pipes and cause potential slipping hazards on pavements, ladders and fire escapes.

  2. is that the guy who posted business cards for his body guard/actor services at the laundromat next to Gelsons? I suppose if you can’t sleep your way to the top, you can always feed your way to the top.
