Mariachi Plaza has put Boyle Heights on the map as far mariachi music goes. But a few blocks east on First Street, it was the beating of bongos that caught the attention of Corey Takahashi, who shot the video above featuring a gentlemen named “El Diaz.” Takahashi listened to the man’s music and story by Al & Bea’s burrito stand.
