Extremes in Eastside real estate

How much house do you need?  Two new real estate listings in Echo Park and El Sereno will appeal to those who either need very little or a lot of living space.  In the southern edge of Echo Park on Douglas Street, a  triangular shaped, 483-square-foot bungalow (pictured at right behind the tarp)  is touted as a “perfect condo alternative” at an asking price of $99,000. Meanwhile, in the hills of El Sereno on Barrett Road,  $778,000 will buy you the McMansion of your dreams, with 4,318-square feet spread over three levels. The giant El Sereno home offers hillside views. The one-bedroom Echo Park bungalow stands across the alley from Bob Baker’s Marionette Theater. Which house is the right size for you?
