Scary succulents

Silver Lake resident and blogger Diane Edwardson has discovered  that a succulent growing near her driveway has blossomed into an alien-like creature.  She has no idea what the  plant is called.

“It’s a black succulent that vines – in fact it’s been particularly happy since it developed an interesting relationship with another alien green succulent that grows up to 12’ tall, straight up and down – they’ve kind of taken over one end of our driveway.”

  1. Wow! Will she give away any cuttings?!?

  2. Gorgeous! I’ll see if I can find out what it is – I’ve been looking for a job in a nursery, so everyday I’m finding myself in a new nursery surrounded by gorgeous plants. Will let you know if I find out what it is!

  3. I want a cutting!!!

  4. She should ask the people at the California Cactus Center on Rosemead Blvd, bet they would know.

  5. That bad boy is Snakecreeper or Ceropegia stapeliiformis according to our plant information guy. Very cool and unusual. Must be an interesting yard!
