At least on Glendale Boulevard. An Echo Park resident snapped a photo of northbound Glendale Boulevard from the Sunset Boulevard bridge at 7:30 P.M. today.  Glendale Boulevard traffic didn’t look much better south of Sunset Boulevard (bottom photo).  The photographer couldn’t tell if an LAPD sobriety checkpoint on Glendale Boulevard and Berkeley Avenue was responsible for the heavier than normal traffic.

    Save the Date: Weekend Edition

    Friday, August 20, 2010

What if you don’t want to spend this weekend sweating among the masses at the 30th annual Sunset Junction Street Fair in Silver Lake? How about sweating in a less crowded environment by hiking through Debs Park (pictured at right), either during a moon light walk tonight or during a womens’ fitness hike on Saturday (you can also sweat away during the Elyira Park work “party”).  This weekend also finds less sweaty options, including several classes and workshops, ranging from an Organizing Bootcamp in Echo Park to a tomato growing class in Lincoln Heights. There are also art openings in Echo Park and an art walk at the East L.A. Civic Center. More events in Save the Date.
