East L.A. Summer Fest | Photo by Mario Aguilar

East Los Angeles fans will be able to enjoy the neighborhood two ways this weekend. On Saturday night, Avenue 50 Studio in Highland Park hosts an opening reception for East Los, an exhibit of paintings and photography featuring the scenes and landscape of East L.A.  On Sunday, several blocks of Whittier Boulevard will be blocked off for the second annual East L.A. Summer Fest, featuring classic car displays, lucha libre, Old School music and more.  Other events this weekend include square dancing at Heritage Square, the dedication of Silver Lake’s Parkman Triangle, a backyard harvest workshop and a Neil Diamond tribute in Eagle Rock. More details in Save the Date.
