A band of fiber artists engaged in some “yarn bombing” on Figueroa Street in Highland Park on Saturday, draping everything from parking meters and trash cans to a bus shelter with colorfully knitted and crocheted pieces.  The street art installation was part of the the opening for ”Fig Knit On!“, a fiber art exhibit at Future Studio Gallery.  Photographer Martha Benedict has more photos of parking meter and newsrack cozies.
