What do you need to throw a successful Echo Park party? For party host Bryan Marquez, the essentials include carne asada, beer, a DJ and an XBox 360. Make that three Xbox game consoles. The video games were set up outside Saturday night in the carport of the home the 26-year-old Marquez grew up in, attracting guests to play Super Street Fighter 4 as well as curious glances from passersby on the sidewalk. Marquez, who began playing Nintendo at age 5 and now organizes video game tournaments, said the generation that grew up on video games does not want to give them up as adults. That’s why he added Xboxes to his cookouts after discovering that his friends hungered for more than carne asada. The idea is to making gaming more of a social than solitary pursuit. “I wanted to bring people back together,” Marquez said.

are they doing this ironically?
Really, zos? Do the people in these pictures even look like hipsters? They look to me like they’re just regular people having a good time enjoying their hobby. There’s no need to be a hostile ass.
Sounds like the worst party ever.
