Watch your step

The rains have stopped – for now – but the hazards remains. On a morning walk through Elysian Park today, Christine Peters came across a landslide (pictured above) and  half a dozen fallen trees.

  2. I noticed several landslides today along Sunset below the cliffs east of Coronado – the existing one has grown and there are several new ones.

    The landslides are often caused by the rains, but can be a delayed reaction as the rainwater percolates though the soil and lubricates a slide plane. Slippage may be weeks or moths later. Best to give vertical areas a little room!

  4. We had a 200 year old oak fall. Very sad!
