Lost & Found: A pitbull mix named Buddy found on Sargent Place

David, an Echo Park resident, rescued a 46-pound pit bull mix last month on Sargent Place.  He named the dog Buddy. David is now looking for Buddy’s original owners or someone else to take care of  Buddy”

“Buddy” found me on January 17 on Sargent Place near Elysian Park, where it appears he had been left. He had no collar or chip. I took him to the vet and had him neutered and vaccinated. (Did not chip him) He weighs about 46 pounds and is 18 inches tall at the shoulder and 34 inches from nose to butt. Vet thinks he is 2-3 years old. He seems to have some pit bull/Amstaff in him, but might also have  shepherd or lab or ridgeback. Head shy and skittish. Does not seem to have any training, although he is housebroken. I could not bear the thought of taking him to the shelter, where he would be freaked out and might be put down. I hope to find his owners, but I fear that he was abused and abandoned.  He is exceedingly sweet and does not appear to be aggressive towards my dogs  (he came running up to all of them when he first found us and there was no drama) but because of his size and their age, size, disposition and health–and my limited time and resources–I cannot keep him.

Please if you know anything about this fine fellow or can help find him a foster or forever home, I ‘d be so grateful to hear from you. Please email me at dkeeps@mac.com”
