Former fire captain convicted of second degree murder in Eagle Rock slaying

A Los Angeles jury this morning found former Los Angeles firefighter and Eagle Rock resident David Del Toro guilty of second-degree murder in the 2006 killing of Jennifer Flores.  Del Toro killed Flores during a drunken range, prosecutors said. Silver Lake seeking designer’s touch for Sunset Junction plaza

A design competition has been launched to create a small plaza and “permanent installation” – think monument sign or artwork – for Silver Lake’s Sunset Junction.
