Small fire breaks out in Elysian Park

Firefighters are putting out a small brush fire that broke out this afternoon in Elysian Park along the 110 Freeway near Stadium Way, according to a Los Angeles Fire Department  spokesman. Police apprehend man with a knife outside Silver Lake bank

The man – described as a transient – was holding a knife outside the Citibank branch on Glendale Boulevard this morning when he was hit with a bean bag fired from an officer’s gun after he made “threatening moves,” said Sgt.
