Highland Park pot shop turns a new leaf

The York Boulevard art scene will add another player this weekend when a new gallery and shop – Platform – opens in a former marijuana dispensary. Highland Park residents Sarah Brady and Alex Cole said Platform, located at 5027 York Blvd. will feature rotating exhibits as well as merchandise – ranging from jewelry to scarves to home decor – obtained from local designers as shopping trips to India, France and Mexico. The back part of the storefront (the former home of the Hummingbird  pot collective) will also be devoted to a “trend library.” What is a trend library?  The library is connected to Brady’s role as the West Coast partner in the Parisian trend forecasting firm Perclers, explains the blog Superstylin:

Sit back and relax while sipping on tea or bubbly as you peruse her Peclers Paris Trend Library, an archive amassed over the past ten years.

Platform will hold a soft opening on Saturday with the opening reception for a group show featuring six artists.
