“Eros Reconsidered,” which opens Saturday night in Highland Park, is one of several gallery openings that will be held across Northeast L.A. as part of Second Saturday Gallery Night. Meanwhile, admirers of modernist architect Richard Neutra will gather this weekend at locations across Eagle Rock, Los Feliz and Silver Lake for symposiums, tours and parties to celebrate the 85th anniversary of Neutra’s architecture practice, which was later headed by his son, Dion.
On Saturday, volunteers will gather to clean up Historic Filipinotown and the Santa Rosa Charter School in Glassell Park will hold a festival and swapmeet to raise funds. If you have any energy left over, pound your heart out at a Sunday afternoon drum circle at Echo Park Lake or get your bike and ride the second CicLAvia, which courses through Boyle Heights. Don’t forget to check out Eastside Mix for live music recommendations, and, of course, there is still more to do in Save the Date.
