Save the Date: Weekend Edition

Two Eastside colleges will be hosting cultural events this weekend, with the BeijingDance/LDTX bringing China’s most “cutting edge choreography” to Cal State L.A.’s Luckman Center in El Sereno. Meanwhile, in Eagle Rock, Occidental College’s Spring Arts Festival includes everything from a contemporary version of an ancient Greek play( performed in “rhyming verse, calypso, doo-wop, funk and rhythm and blues”) and a more conventional concert by the Occidental-Caltech Symphony Orchestra.

If you are into garden work, consider joining other volunteers who will be weeding, mulching and cleaning some urban green spaces in Cypress Park, Mt. Washington and Silver Lake.  Meanwhile, indoors, there will be lectures and workshops on “Jung’s Last Great Initiation” in Atwater Village and a Friday night lecture in Echo Park on the dark side of  body collection for medical science. More to do in Save the Date and lots of live music to consider in Eastside Mix.
