That is such a great photo! I guess I take the quality of the photos I see on Eastsider for granted (Martha Benedict’s continuing contributions deserve a note of thanks especially) but this one somehow captures a noirish sense of old LA…and to know the location—I can almost reading the opening lines of a great novel based in LA in the past. Wonderful sense of place and time Ms Harding—

Thank you! The Rock Garden in the Police Academy is open to the public. There are so many places within Elysian Park that are just breathtaking. I’m fortunate to live in Solano Canyon, so it’s in my backyard!
