Real estate agents also need to adjust to Echo Park Lake closure

The closure of Echo Park Lake last week for a nearly two-year-long clean up has left many park regulars adjusting their routines.  Now, real estate agents trying to sell lake view properties will also have to update their sales pitches since the lake will be drained and the park turned into a construction zone. For example, the listing for a $365,000, 2-bedroom condo “overlooking beautiful Echo Park Lake” reads in part:

Walk and jog the park, you can fish too!

Well, there will be  no fishing in the lake or jogging in the park until mid 2013 if the construction schedule holds up. Residents as well as real estate agents can get an update about the $64 million Echo Park Lake clean up at a town hall meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight.
