The real estate market may have softened this summer but that did not scare off the crowd of bidders who showed up at last week’s auction of an 80-year-old house on Princeton Avenue in Elysian Heights. As the above video shows, the crowd of bidders, onlookers, kids and at least one dog poured into the narrow, hilly street during the Saturday afternoon auction. The buyers were warned that boarded up home at 2130 Princeton Avenue– listed at $195,000 in a probate sale – was in substandard condition, according to the listing on Redfin. That didn’t seem to matter. The high bid came in at $340,000.
