  1. Location, location, location, right next to the famous Drew st!

  2. Drew st.? Are you insane? $499,000? WTF.

  3. Nice-looking redo but yeah, steps from gangland. I’m not sure that corner of Glassell Park is ripe for gentrification yet. Not to mention that “approx 1900 square feet” is way above the officially listed sq ft of 1129.

  4. this is a joke, right?

  5. Nestled between Forest Lawn and Drew Street Gangs. Even at 399, that location isn’t worth it..

  6. mayor of silver lake blvd.

Location next to Forest Lawn is a Plus,Plus, Plus. A landscaped grounds that is quiet during the day and closes at 5pm, and will never be developed for housing or commercial. That is a great neighbor.

Also the property is not exactly NEXT to Drew Street, but above Drew St.
The lifestyle along the ridgeline is always 2 notches classier than whatever is in the gulch below. Also, there is room to park the Hummer so Drew St. shouldn’t pose a threat. In fact, considering the signage above the bed in the master bedroom – Drew St. may be considered an amenity along the lines of Fresh and Easy.

One obvious deficiency of this property – tiny bathrooms.

The vanity with the marble countertop and the Kohler Memoirs widespread faucet looks fantastic in the photos, but it will have to come out. The Toto Aqious toilet bowl gives as narrow a footprint as can be found in a poddie – but with that vanity only kids and anorexics can squeeze onto the thrown for No.2.

People need to access the shower control without leaning over the vanity and it feels more natural to enter the shower on the same end as the showerhead.

What can I tell you – the pictures look lovely, the vanity is nice, but that bathroom needs to go back to a pedestal sink or a 24inch max wide countertop.

  7. If you’ve seen one Better Shelter house you’ve seen them all!
