Save the Date: Echo Park scavenger hunt to reveal neighborhood history

The Echo Park Historical Society has teamed up with event organizer Out of the Box of Events to produce The Echo Park Challenge, a neighborhood-wide scavenger hunt and fundraiser that will be held on Saturday, Nov. 12.  One of the neighborhood’s most historic places, Echo Park Lake  is off limits as it undergoes a massive clean up. But event organizers say there are plenty of other historic sites and stories to discover:

Echo Park is where the famous pie-in-the-face joke was born and a favorite Tramp came to life. This LA neighborhood was also the backdrop to a little Pulp Fiction becoming reality. No prior knowledge of Echo Park necessary. Just bring a sharp mind, a charged camera and comfortable shoes for this challenge. Prizes to the winning team!

A portion of the $30 admission benefits the historical society.
