Hats and faces finish off Elysian Park snowmen

Photos by Christine Peters

Recreation and Park workers and Echo Park area volunteers gathered this morning in Elysian Park to finish decorating the tumbleweeds used to create the park’s snowmen decorations.  After a hat made from a plastic bucket was placed on its head, the snowman pictured at top then got a pair of eyes, mouth and an orange nose – cut from the top of a field cone.  The finished result (bottom) photo can now be viewed at the corner of Scott Avenue and Stadium  Way. Look for other three other snowman figures around the park this holiday.

  1. Thanks to all those that made this possible. So festive.

  2. I forgot to leave the 2 noses for staff for the “after lunch” installation of the pair that went in at the Stadium Way entrance! OOPS! Will swing by tomorrow and see if I can “pop” them in!

  3. Love the snowmen!
