Found: Maltese Mix in Echo Park

Submitted by J. O’Connor Found a dog this morning at Echo Park Ave. and Baxter St. Green collar, no tags- white scruffy male. Had two snaggle-teeth hanging outside its mouth.  A bit matted but otherwise super friendly and seems like it was once well taken care of. Seems to be a Maltese mix, or something similar. The Daily News reported this weekend about how spay-neuter clinics, animal shelters and animal activists are preparing for the annual springtime feral kitty baby boom. Apparently feral cats are plentiful in Montecito Heights, where resident Roberta Garten has spent several years  trapping stray cats that are neutered and then returned to their neighborhood through the FixNation clinic. Highland Park residents warn neighbors of burglaries

Many of the Highland Park residents who live on Abbott Place returned to their homes on Monday night to find red flyers with the words “BURGLAR ALERT”  posted up and down the steep street.
