A drive down Figueroa Street through Highland Park reveals some classic store signs, some of which have recently been restored. One of Figueroa’s most beloved commercial symbols is a blue and white neon sign that hangs above the entrance to a corner liquor store and proudly proclaims “COLDEST BEER IN TOWN.” Now the entire tw0-story building from which the Coldest Beer in Town is allegedly sold is itself for sale at an asking price of $4 million. The approximately 18,400-square-foot brick building at the corner of Figueroa and Avenue 59 includes seven store fronts and 12 “apartment lofts” on the second floor (The property also includes a separate, free-standing “creative office” and parking lot). Presumably the beer sign is included in the deal but The Eastsider is checking with the broker to find out.
