Cops catch Echo Park firehouse burglary suspect

A 20-year-old Hollywood area man was arrested this morning in connection with the burglary of Echo Park Fire Station No. 20 earlier this month.  “The suspect was identified by Rampart Burglary Detective Prieto, who conducted the investigation and arrest,” said Mario Mota with the Rampart Division. “He was identified by good old fashion police work. We will release his name next week.”

The suspect apparently entered the Sunset Boulevard firehouse through a back door that was left open by a firefighter as the station crew rested upstairs. The burglar stole  firefighters’ personal property in addition to fire department gear, some of which was tossed into nearby dumpsters.

  1. Great news!

  2. Why would one steal from the guys that would put out the fire at your place. if this is the guy…

  3. Hope they send him away until he’s too old to do this kind of thing again. Fools like him jeopardize everyone.

  4. Way to go LAPD!

    Thank you!
