  2. Coincidentally, the Silver Lake Reservoir on Staten Island was converted from open-air reservoir to huge underground water storage tanks in the early 1970s. In fact, they are the largest underground water tanks in the world:

    Always thought it cool that two communities 2800 miles apart have a neighborhood called Silver Lake, and both have reservoirs named after them.
