  1. The headline above “Judge orders Glassell Park charter school to move out of Van de Kamps campus” should be corrected to be more accurate.

    The Court ordered the Los Angeles Community College Board of Trustees to immediately set aside the lease of the Alliance for College-Ready Public Schools and inform the Court of how it proposes to bring its use of the Van de Kamps site into compliance with environmental laws. The District has the option of preparing a compliant environmental review to support a reconsideration of leasing of the New Education Building or the Board could choose to follow the original plan for the Van de Kamps Campus to offer a mix of fee based and traditional community college courses which is in compliance with existing environmental documents.

    So the headline overstates the judge’s decision because the judgment did NOT order the charter school to leave the Van de Kamps campus.
