A party at the Brewery Arts Complex, a sprawling arts compound in Lincoln Heights filled with artist studios and residences, ended with a shooting that left one man dead and another injured early Sunday morning. L.A. Now reports that a 22-year-old man was pronounced dead at a hospital while the other victim was being treated for his injuries in a Long Beach hospital. Police were still trying to figure out what prompted the shooting. The shooting took place in the The Brewery Lofts at The Brewery Arts Complex, a former Pabst brewery that has been converted an arts community and the site of a popular open studio event.
Dear EastSider
Some of your facts are not correct. Neither the party nor the shooting was at The Brewery Arts Complex. Nor were any residents involved. Both took place on the street adjacent to the complex. The street is a cul de sac and the unfortunate locale of the occasional tailgate party.
Thanks
Cheers
Ren
Well, that makes a huge difference! I couldn’t imagine such a thing happening at The Brewery involving its residents. Thanks for clearing that up, Ren!
This is just great…all these fuc$&@? hipsters with their guns are ruining these peaceful streets. Lincoln Heights has always been a neighborhood free of crime and violence until gentrification gripped the neighborhood and gun wielding hipsters starting killing each other. Take your guns and go back to where you came from because you are not welcome in my neighborhood!
“gun wielding hipsters”? very astute.
