Rainbows and moonshine

The combination of Thursday afternoon’s thunderstorms and the evening’s bright moon made for interesting sky watching.  In Highland Park, Katrina Alexy snapped the top photo looking north across Highland Park to a rainbow in the distance. Early morning gusher drenches Sunset & Alvarado

Sasha Smith was driving by Sunset Boulevard and Alvarado Street in Echo Park  shortly after 1 a.m. when she snapped the above photo of water gushing into the night sky from a broken hydrant near the Sunset Car Wash.
