The combination of Thursday afternoon’s thunderstorms and the evening’s bright moon made for interesting sky watching. In Highland Park, Katrina Alexy snapped the top photo looking north across Highland Park to a rainbow in the distance. A few hours later in East Los Angeles, C.J. Salgado snapped the bottom photo as a silver-dollar like moon floated above Whittier Boulevard. While thunderstorms, as well as rainbows, are not included in today’s afternoon forecast, the night sky will feature a full, Blue Moon.
