Last month The Eastsider reported that two old homes in need of repair and renovation–a Spanish-Colonial in Atwater Village with “urine soaked” floors and an Echo Park bungalow described as a “fixer gem”–both went up for sale. Despite their shortcomings, both properties didn’t not stay on the market very long. In fact, the sale of both properties was finalized in about six weeks. The 864-square-foot Atwater house on Silver Lake Boulevard sold for $260,000 or $21,000 over the asking price, according to Redfin. Meanwhile, the nearly-century old Echo Park bungalow on Avalon Street sold for $425,000–$30,000 under asking. Are the buyers going to move in or flip these homes? Stay tuned.
