A man and a boy were injured early this morning at a Lincoln Heights taco stand after they were hit by gunshots intended for someone else, police said. The victims, a 23-year-old male and 13-year-old male, were transported to a hospital for treatment after multiple shots were fired from a vehicle at about 1:44 a.m. near North Broadway and S. Avenue 19, said LAPD spokeswoman Sara Faden. “They were hit by accident,” said Faden, citing preliminary information.
The victims were at the taco stand when a four-door vehicle with three male passengers pulled up and opened fire, according to police reports. The 23-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound in the leg; a bullet grazed the back of the 13-year-old, Faden said. Both were reported to be in stable condition. Faden said the information about the shooting is based on early reports and may change as the investigation continues.
