Echo Park gang member caught tagging

Some Echo Park residents spent part of Monday cleaning up after a tagger left his mark on the walls, gates and even a palm tree near the corner of Laveta Terrace and Scott Avenue. But at least one person did more than just clean up the blue spray paint; they called police.  As a result, an adult male and member of the Echo Park gang was apprehended by police in possession of a can of spray paint, said Lt. Stacy Spell with the LAPD Northeast Division.  While the suspect was quickly arrested, some of those gang tags had still not been painted out as of this morning.

  1. An adult man tagging is just sad.

Worse, his world is so small and meaningless that tagging gives him a sense of power and ownership.

  2. Way to go resident!!! Seems like Echo Park has a better police force and financial ability than El Sereno to apprehend these good for nothing taggers?!

  3. Yay! Am I glad they caught this guy. What a pathetic loser. EPX, get a life.

  4. The citizen who called it in should make sure that they get the $1500 reward for that arrest!! NICE!

  6. Happy they caught him. Hopefully the arrest will lead to more serious charges than tagging. If not, he’s already out tagging again.

  10. There’s reward by the city for reporting taggers – up to $1,000. 911 callers should get the form online, fill it and mail it in. It has to be turn in within 60 days of the arrest.
