Police have arrested a suspect in the fatal Monday morning shooting of a 26-year-old man in Highland Park. The suspect, described as a male in his 20s, has been booked on suspicion of murder, according to the Northeast Division Twitter feed. However, Detective Miyakawa with the Northeast Division said the suspect has not yet been charged. No further information would be provided until charges have been filed in what is believed to be a gang-related shooting.

Israel Cervantes was a good kid. He was my neighbor, always stopping by to help us in the garden. He was kind, considerate and was loved by everyone who knew him. He will be missed.
