Bulletin Board: Gobble Gobble Give seeking volunteers for Thanksgiving

Submitted by Gobble Gobble Give

On Thursday, November 22nd, Gobble Gobble Give, an organization dedicated to feeding the homeless, will host its 14thannual Thanksgiving meal deliveries. The Thanksgiving deliveries will provide needy families with food for the holidays.

Gobble Gobble Give is looking for volunteers on every level who donate food, money, money and/or clothing this upcoming Thanksgiving day by cooking, warming, packaging and delivering food to the homeless in one of the 5 participating cities this year.

What began with a few Echo Park residents cooking meals for 28 homeless has evolved into a huge community effort, feeding, clothing and serving 4,000+ meals in and around the Echo. Gobble Gobble Give currently has extensions in Harlem, New York; Austin, Texas; San Francisco, California; and Las Vegas, Nevada.

“Gobble Gobble Give is an example of what can happen when a community comes together,” said Barry Walker, founder of Gobble Gobble Give and Echo Park resident. “The generosity of each of these communities never ceases to amaze me.”

Those in need will be treated to a hot meal, toiletry kits, clothing and blankets.

WHEN: Thurs., Nov. 22 @ 10am

WHERE:           Los Angeles, CA: The Echo Nightclub – 1822 W Sunset Blvd, LA, CA 90026

Last year Julie Pilot informed me about the event and I was only able to bring casses of water. But this year we want to donate our time, not just money and items.
