Found: Chow mix in Glassell Park

Submitted by J. Sobel

I found this dog wandering through the intersection of El Paso Dr. and Division on Sunday, Nov 18 around 10 am.  She’s a chow mix, probably 10-15 years old.  She’s very sweet and great on a leash but has trouble walking, probably due to arthritis or a bad hip.  I’ve posted signs on the telephone poles in the area but have not received a call from the owner yet.  She’s currently at the L.A. Animal Services shelter.  Her ID # there is A1358429 and their phone number is 213.485.9241.  They won’t keep her very long.  I hope her owner claims her soon.  She’s really a sweetheart.

  1. I met her at the shelter yesterday. She’s available for adoption today. She truly is a sweetheart. The shelter has named her Kate. I hope someone can help this little lady out. I wish I could, but can’t take a dog in. The employee I spoke with said Kate is her favorite. fingers crossed…

  2. Douglas and J Sobel If I can raise money for this dog is there anyway you guys can try to look for someone to foster her? The goal is to get her out of the shelter ASAP before they put her down.

  3. Douglas, I think I might be able to foster but I am very new to this and I work early in the morning until late in the afternoon on the westside so I am not sure how I will be able to get to her? Could you help me?

  4. Thanks to one of our amazing kitten fosters, this sweet pup was adopted yesterday! We’re so happy we shared The Eastsiders post with our FB fans, as it literally saved sweet Kate’s life!
