Full moon view from Eagle Rock*

Photos by Matt Hartman

Tonight’s full moon is the smallest of the year.  Despite its relatively small size, Matt Hartman of Eagle Rock was able to capture some impressive images using an Olympus Digital Pen E-PM1 camera equipped with his father’s Swift spotting scope and a remote shutter release. It’s not a Supermoon but it’s still quite a sight.

* Correction: Looks like we were one-day early calling this a full moon, according to the Griffith Observatory Sky Report.
