A man was taken into custody early this afternoon after he was hit by a police bean bag, according to the Northeast Division. The incident involving the “non-compliant” man drew a large police presence in the area of Marion Way and Avenue 51 after 1 p.m., according to the division’s Facebook page. An officer at the Northeast Division station said that no further details were available as an investigation continues.
Must be Marmion Way. Marion is in Angeleno Heights.
What is a police beanbag? Does anyone know?
It’s like a gun that shoots bean bags (like the ones you toss) instead of bullets.
That guy is lucky they did shoot his butt with bullets. beans must be the humane thing.
The correct address is Marmion Way and Avenue 51, in Highland Park, as stated on the Northeast Facebook page. Good catch, B.E.
Barbara, a beanbag is a non-lethal round used in police shotguns to subdue suspects who are not safe to approach. The officers who responded to this incident did a remarkable job of containing the non-compliant suspect armed with a deadly weapon. The officers kept their cool, requested additional resources, and ultimately arrested the suspect without escalating the situation to a higher form of force.
